Well I guess this means I can come out of the closet now! I had a 69 elCamino SS396 somewhere along the way of my 30 year love affair with GTOs. I loved it. I could haul all kinds of stuff for my Pontiac projects, it would run 14s on street tires and it had a great ride. I used to dream of having Pontiac torque under the hood and started secretly thinking about what it would take to convert a camino into a Pontiac. The 69 was what I thought would be the easiest if it were done like the car at the begining of the thread....but I have forever loved the 70. I bought my first one at 18 and now have an Orbit Orange Judge. I have attached a sketch I drew many years ago that kinda captures what I had in mind. If I were to build it now it would be big cubes with a blower on top and 22.5 mickeys out back.....fun thoughts...thanks for the topic!
