The guy had the car 32 years, then decided to have it painted black? Was it in a wreck, did it need body work?
Really need more info, pics and know what condition the car is in? Painting it Black didn't help its value. Should have left it original as it looks like most of the car is.
Now is that 52,000 or 152,000. does he drive it less than average 1000 miles/yr or 3000/yr. If it was started 6mos ago that's nothing. It isn't like it was sitting 20 yrs.If it didn't set for 20 yrs I would be more inclined to say it has 152,000 miles unless he drove it 1000/yr or less. 152,00 would be a lot of worn out mechanical parts if not replaced.
Ball park would be $10,000-$20,000 depending on condition. You need to feel him out. Sometimes they will let them go cheap if he likes you and knows its going to a good home and will be taken care of. If you could get it for 6,000-10,000 it would be a good deal for you. But you don't want to insult him by offering too low. Need to know what he is looking for in price? Need to know more history about it.
