IF, an end-of-days type occurrence happens, then yes; food, shelter, fuel and ammo will become the important staples of life.
I placed 'if' in bold letters because it seems every generation seems to think that the apocalypse will happen in their lifetime.
Too many have been influenced by movies, TV and History Channel specials on Nostradamus, if you ask me.
The end of days hasn't happened yet on my watch, and if it does, I doubt I'll be around to fret much about it anyway.
