Not a thread highjack but a detour, but why the heck is gold and silver so valuable? IMO, it's just a worthless piece of rock unless you're using it.
Why do people value it as currency?
I'd rather have a stockpile of food, water and weapons. Any currency is only as good as the people that want to trade with it.
