Hey, what were those items? That's real world experience in SHTF.
A wind up am/fm/sw radio. a solar AA/AAA battery charger and batteries and a small 1 burner propane stove.

Batteries and flashlights sold out in 12 hours on base. There would have been other things that I wish they would have had but did not. The left the lamps back in the states that would have given light and heat. It was still snowing where they were when the quake struck.

I always look at the area where one lives. People in FL do not worry about cold. People in Colorado do. Some things are universal and some are not.
