Put a 204/214 with .420/.443 cam in the SBC 305 with a 4 bbl intake. Wil wake the car up some. The gear will kill any smaller cube engine anyway. Install the 3.23 or 2.42 gear for the future build.
Then build your Pontiac 455 and install it when you are done.
That way you can sell the mod'ed 305 and get a better return on your overall long term investment with the least amount of investment.
