Matt, I've had trouble with them too. It isn't just that shifter. What I ended up doing, I took a piece of 1/4" rod and used it for a staight edge to get the angle for the cable. It only takes 1 time to mess the cable up. I cut the indents down on the comb inside the trans, and take some of the tention off the spring. I make mine so they shift real easy, so I don't jam the cable. I use a electric solinoid to shift the th350 in my sons car. Ud think these cables would be much better for what they cost. I've never had a problem with a factory cable, and I've had quite a few birds over the years. I've got brand new cables from Summit before that were bad. Always check them before you install them. If there is any resistance when moving them by hand send them back.
