You mentioned before it was a three on the tree which means three speed manual with column shifter. What I see here is an automatic with column shifter. Probably a ST-300 two speed?
518 means it was the 518th Tempest Custom Sport Coupe produced by the Pontiac plant that year if I'm not mistaken.
