The interior stuff looks bad but a good upholstery shop can do the seats and headliner. Yeah, it might not be factory correct, but you could definitely make it work. Carpet is relatively minor. The dash will be a challenge to find but it's the rust that would scare me. Once you start peeling stuff back, it might just keep getting worse.
For the right price, sure I might take a chance on it if i had the room, the time, and some body work talent. But for me the right price on something like this would be around half (or less) of what he's asking.

I would have to agree and already sent an email this morning advising that I will have to pass based on the condition of the car and the asking price.
Edit: He just emailed back and said how about $2700. I think he is trying hard to get rid of it and I am curious to find out what he paid for it.
