10-30-11 I finished the exhaust system today. I've seen where some guys choose to connect the rest of the exhaust system at the collector and 90* back under the car. Or they have an extension with a pipe coming out of the side and turning back under the car. I just didn't want the pipes hanging down.
So I cut a hole into the side of the collector and ran a pipe between the collector and the rear spring mount, then 90* about where the stock exhaust would run. I think it looks cleaner and a little stealthy. I was also going to use my old 40 series Flowmasters but the welded style mufflers just didn't look right. So I bought the old oval, seamed, Thrush Turbo mufflers. I also stayed with the smaller diameter exhaust tubing trying to keep it a bit more period. Then I just made some 1/4" thick block off plates so I can uncork it when I go racing.
