Here in Texas we mostly have brick exteriors and concrete drives which will resonate noise. We get some car doors which I can understand. The neighbors have some fetish with putting their whole arm into slamming the front and garage door.
BOOM! even late into the night they will slam them.

I just moved out of an apartment complex with cheap brick 3-storie buildings. Four years of Hell because the sound of metal doors hitting metal door frames resonates through the (hollow) walls like clicking two rocks under water. Out of 17 units in my building, I was one of only a couple tenates that knew how to shut a door gently, so as not to desturb others.
Had more than a few upstairs neighbors that would let their kitchen cuboards Bonk shut every time too.
And yeah, there were the usual jerks in the parking lot that would SLAM trunks during sleeping hours. But the lazies with their key-fobs bleeting the horn at all hours pissed me off just as much.
