It strikes me one of two ways:

If you want to avoid an attack, you're better off letting the attacker know you've got talons, too -- maybe even bigger ones.

If you actually don't mind getting into a gunfight and an attacker thinks you're just another helpless easy-pickings chump, go with CCW and try to out-draw him/her.
