We use SSD drives in a few PC's here that we use for video encoding. We also use them in our Digital Video Recorders (Ki-Pros)

We have no trouble with them in either case. Fast as heck.
More costly, but the floods in Thailand bumped the cost of disc drives now. So..
Agreed, P4?? Come on, new motherboard or system anyhow for a little more then the cost of a drive.

Most people I talk to build systems with smaller SSD's for boot and apps and standard disc drives for data.
