If you already have the wall mount, take the measurements of where the mount will be placed (typically centered at 60" above the finished floor). Back the wall mount with 2x4s between the framing studs horizontally (centered on the bolt holes on the top and bottom of mount) the full width or more of the flat panel.

To make a clean mount with no wires hanging put a flush mount power outlet just below where the wall mount will be placed. Run your coax cable to another box next to the outlet, this box can also be used for speaker wires.
