That sounds like a great deal if the car is like you say rust free. Those cars are pretty rare and for 5k in my opnion its a good investment to keep or sell later.
Your price comparison is fair at 11-14 depending how clean and how it runs drives. For that money you can afford to throw some improvement and safety bucks at it.
