Yes, the 442 used a rear sway bar, from its introduction in 1964, throughout the muscle car era. DeLorean felt the rear sway bar affected ride, so the GTO, and later the Firebird, were not available with a rear sway bar. When DeLorean left Pontiac in 1969, the 1970 GTO's and Firebird's became available with a rear sway bar.
