Well, finally my sheet metal arrived last Wednesday. I'm not sure how to feel about it as I had to be at work and my body shop accepted the whole order but, then complained that several metal parts were all bent up. They claim they can fix it all but, of course it's me who has to pay them...
Anyway, I got Friday off so I could go to the shop and shoot some pics and they showed me how the boxes were stacked with the flimsy quarter skins at the bottom of the pile! I'm not sure who to be angry with PY or UPS... So, there I am taking pics. I get two pics into it and the camera runs out of battery!!
I managed to get a pic of the full floor that was bent in the corners... The full trunk was nearly folded in half and they already "unfolded" it. Additionally, the quarter skins look like they've been walked on. They have indentations and high and low spots visible to the naked eye right out of the box. I didn't expect them to be that bad but I guess it's what is available..
Finally, they showed me the lower quarter patches that I had also ordered -that I was told I would need as the skins were for a 66-mine is a 67-- and they are identical to the skins!! I don't need those parts... $150 in metal I don't need... I called PY back and asked if they would cover the return shipping.... After dropping this much coin and waiting 3 weeks and getting stuff that was not in the best condition, I hope that is not asking too much. They're supposed to get back with me on Monday. We'll see....
Here's the pics I managed to get: Notice the bends in the front corners of the full floor and the "RPR" paper on the quarter skins- my shop thinks that this means the panels had been repaired... If they were, I can't imagine what they looked like before.
