Car soup has NON around here(vettes) of ANY YEAR listed for under 11K even for the mid 70s turds. Would i pay that for those? NO. I MIGHT pay 5K for a 76-79 or 6-7K for a 85-90, BUT NOT 11k.
Private parties TRY to get as much as a dealer is asking and if they CAN get it, Good for them, But I wouldn't give some schmuck selling his car in the front yard as much as a dealer was asking for the same car. A dealer wouldn't give over mid-30s TOPS trade in for that car.and then put it on the lot for 45 or more.

At any rate I would rather buy one from that smuck selling HIS car in his front yard than a dealer that bought a car at auction and knows absolutely nothing about it. The back story and history of a car is as important as anything. Ever buy a used car from a dealer that came with all the original documentation and service records? No....know why? That is stuff that can't explain so even if it comes with the car when they get it they throw it away.
