I love to run. I used to run all the time when I was in the service but it kinda made me not enjoy it when your forced to do it. When I got out I started to run again and found myself running further and further each time I ran. I was up to running 6-8 miles at a time. One night I was enjoying the run so much I ended up running 10 miles. My knees and ankle paid dearly for it later. Then things started getting busy and I found less time to run and more reason why I couldn't run. As you stated, I found myself gaining more weight and wasn't liking what I was seeing. I finally decided to do something about it, I bought a workout set called "Insanity" which has been kicking my butt for the last two months. Even though it's not for everyone, it has certainly helped me not only getting me in shape but giving me motivation to start running again. Good luck with your goals, and remember it may suck, it may be painful, but we all know how good it feel after you finish the run.
