Stewarts comments are because he as many others that race Sprint cup are tired of NASCARs half assed fixes to try to keep their white elephant tracks viable. The superspeedways are Bill France Srs ego trips to best Indianapolis speedway in bigger and better, problem is he never envisioned the dramatic increases in performance and speed that would escalate and make those tracks very unsafe to race at today and for many years previously.

When the first race at Talladega was run the drivers boycotted the race because even though they hadn't even ran a race the drivers were feeling unsafe when they practiced the cars. Eventually NASCAR implemented the restrictor plates at these 2 tracks (Daytona and Talladega) as a temporary fix which they still haven't come up with anything better to this day. Tearing the tracks up to re configure them has been discussed but no one wants to pay the bill to do that so the drivers owners and crews are stuck with 2 racetracks that have most likely one permanent answer to fix the problem that no one wants to pay for.

Each race this comes to light and NASCAR puts on their thinking caps and assure everyone the have an answer to the problem, next time around it's just as bad if not worse and one common denominator is a bunch of wrecked racecars. Tony speaks for more than himself when he spoke out, everyone's tired of NASCARs token fixes to a huge problem at both tracks.
