Thermostatic control for a 'Dorman' electric fan ?
Hey guys,
I'd like to install a thermostatic control in my 65' GTO electric fan. I figured it was a good idea, like after the car is turned off, the fan would continue to run, like on newer cars ?
Questions:
1) Do I need a thermostatic control at all ?
2) Do I also use the OEM fan (actual fan blades), or just not install the OEM fan at all ? Or won't there be enough room for both ? My guess is the actual OEM fan would mess up the control's temperature sensing ?
3) The electric fan is a Dorman unit # 620-634 from RockAuto.com
4) The car has a brand new OEM 4 core Harrison
5) The car has a Vintage Air system installed, so no more factory heater core
Any tips or tricks you could throw my way are super appreciated !
