That is where Im torn, the lower quarter patch panels just cover from the tire back where the whole lip needs replaced and just a small section behind the tire. I did the bodywork on it about 5 years ago and I know the surface (minus the section where the patch is) is all solid and hate to cut good GM metal and replace it with "OK" metal. Not sure how good a custom patch can get to the factory contours but if someone can do it, Id rather go that route.

However, whats probably worse is the other side which looks great now, but a previous "bodyman" installed a 1/4 skin on it and did it rather questionable and doesnt line up that well at the rocker panel. It almost needs cut at the weld and pulled out a couple millimeters as there is a good deal of filler there to build it out. Im not sure if I have to fix that or replace the entire 1/4, especially with a vinyl top going back on and that the aproximate area the vinyl trim goes is where the filler was applied.

I can do bodywork short of cutting and welding, I can do fillerwork and blocksand all day long but this is the part Im unsure of, but want to do it right, myself, if possible
