Just painted a piece at a time, Or a few pieces at a time. It has worked out really well and kept the waste next to nothing. Doing this in my shop with a makeshift spray booth.
I bought the single stage acrylic urethane system that Summit Racing sells. Paint for the whole car:
$72.00 1 gallon
$19.95 quart activator
$9.95 reducer
$102.00 Total.
I spent more on evercoat body filler than I did for the paint job. I went with single stage because I'm trying to keep the car old school looking and I didn't want the in your face shine from a clear coat. Not saying I don't like a beautiful 2 stage paint job. Just not on this car. My brother Darren bought his paint from another online outfit that offered the Monza Red. Same exact system that I used. His gallon of red was only $89.00. He had tried a number of paint stores and was finding an average price for his red was about $ 300.00 gal.
