Paul,

You're welcome, glad to help. I'm thinking that only the CA cars got the air cleaner with the vent hole in '70... '71 and '72 I believe all had that vent hole. If your car came with a 400 engine originally it would have come with a single snorkel air cleaner, only the 455 cars got the dual snorkel from the factory.

You are correct, the vacuum motors on the dual snorkel did have a small plastic "T" to connect the two to one port on the thermal sensor. The other port on the sensor is for the intake vacuum fitting.

Most guys bypass the original TCS solenoid, but if you'd like to try to get the system working I can help you with that as well.
