The STC's mods are a different animal. They only offer a factory reman, and use that "0" time deal as a selling point. Then they give you damn near nothing for your core. As most folks do the STC at overhaul time, they get about $5000.00 for their core.
I talked one customer out of doing a -52 or -60A mod last year and saved him over $400k. Just not worth putting almost $900k into a KA200 worth only $850k in today's market.... OK back on topic as this went way out there.
