Ollie, I am looking forward to seeing your Sanden compressor install, as I would rather go that route instead of using the R4 compressor, if possible. Please post pics and parts lists when you can. What vehicle are you installing in? What will you be using for hoses, evaporator, condensor, etc?
I'm installing in a 65 Grand Prix. I don't mind changing out the condensor for a modern unit, mine developed a leak anyway. But I'm not sure I can adapt modern stuff to work with my 1965 evaporator...if that is even possible.
As for now I'm still running the serpentine belt on the water pump, alternator and power steering only..it's holding up OK. I have noticed that belt tension must be kept pretty tight since this system uses no tensioner.
