I posted this:Back in 1968 John Edwards Pontiac in Canton, OH. raced one with John doing the driving. I don't recall what color it was. I drove a Red one that was fully loaded with every option, vinyl top, close ratio 4 spd., performance axle ratio, etc. Knafel Pontiac bought it when I was done driving it as a Brass Hat Co. Car. I remember John Z. had that was Blue with Auto Trans, that I drove one day while I was attending Service training at the Central Office. It was sitting in the Exec. Garage. He had Engineering install AC on one, as it was not available with this engine combo back then. That would be a very rare car it it still exists.

In reference to Baron Von Zeppelin post, it appears that neither of the RA II's I mention above are still around.
Another post mentioned they wish there was a list of Vin's for certain performance engines. Back in 1973-74 when the 455 SD was available, all Field Service Reps. were provided a GMPD bulletin that listed the Vin's for all cars built with this engine. The reason being a dealer could not order specific parts for that engine from GMPD without a Field Service Reps. approval to prevent someone buying a block and parts and installing in another Firebird, GTO, etc. and claiming it came from the Factory.
Hindsight being 20/20 I wished I had kept this bulletin with all of the Vin's as it would be helpful in locating some of the original cars and verify if they were real and not clones/retro/tribute, etc. or whatever some call copies today. I turned in all of my Dealer Bulletin and Zone Bulletin binders, Parts Bulletins, etc. ( 20 years worth) to my replacement in the Zone Office.
