Hanging doors alone without scratching the paint is almost impossible. Fortunately I came up with a solution using equipment I already had. It seems that my transmission jack has a crease alone the middle of it. Perfect for locating a door and keeping it from sliding off. I can hold the door with one hand, adjust the jack as necessary and start the bolts with other hand.

Another shot of the single person door installation. It's almost easy this way. I know there are jack adapters to lift doors but $120 is a lot of money for something you don't often need.

I got the jam area of the fenders and hood painted today.











Flood damage. The hinge got wet when my basement flooded. I'm going to try electrolysis to remove the rust. A lot of the front end hardware was on the floor also. I ended up buying another front end hardware kit. Too much effort to remove all the surface rust.



I occurred to me if I don't get the car painted in the next few weeks, it may be too cold to paint till spring. As it is I can't paint till mid morning. So I got busy and ordered all the paint supplies. Now its a race to see if I can get the car prepped and painted in the next few weeks.
