BVZ, regarding the Knafel RAV GTO:
The 1969 GTO Knafel GTO's were called "Golden Sabres", equipped with RAV's. There were supposedly 12 built. These 1969 GTO's were all ordered in white, had either 3.90 or 4.33 gears, and Hurst Wheels. Bill Knafel had an outfit in Florida repaint them Pearlescent White, and added the gold lettering (in gold leaf) which was all done by hand. The Golden Sabre logo featured a golden sabre (sword) under the handpainted script painted on the front fenders.
Knafel had a standing order with Pontiac to take all the RAIII, RAIV, and RAV engines that were not scheduled for production.
