Well, first off, the appraisal doesn't mean anything. You can get a car appraised for $1.8 million, even when the car last sold for $70,000 at auction. All you need is someone to say they're an appraiser, pay them a few bucks, and then you tell them what you want it appraised for.

It's a nice car though, nicely optioned, great colors, and amazing no one has turned it into a Trans An over the decades. With that color scheme, it would be a natural.

Some comments on the sellers claims :

Only the Trans Am received the 1" sway bar.

The hood tach was NOT available on the Trans Am. The tach itself (in dash) was optional on the Trans Am or the Firebird. It was not included in the Trans Am package, not even a RAIV 4-speed car, you had to order a tach. The stepped gauges to the right of the driver are not "Trans Am" gauges, those are simply where Pontiac placed the gauges when a tach was ordered.

Some things I noticed about the car in general. All minor things, but curious nonetheless as the seller claims it's all original...

1) The front has been hit, the bumper is angled down.
2) The p/s cooler is missing the clips, and there are no holes in the radiator for those clips. That means someone added the p/s cooler and never drilled the holes, or the radiator was swapped out (more likely), and the clips were never reinstalled.
3) Someone painted the brake booster black.
4) The paint is awfully shiny for 43-year old paint.
5) In the interior photo, showing the front seats, you can see the back 1/4 interior panels are a much brighter blue than the front panels.

Again, it's a GREAT car, but I would like to see the invoice, and see it in person, before dropping 5 figures. In this economy, the car would bring about $50,000 at auction.
