Wrap around windshield is 1960-63. The windshield pictured is 1964-66.
Torsion bar front suspension is 1960-62.
Pontiac engine was an option from 1955-59.
Don't know about the GMC V6 being rare. They are good engines for a work truck that hauls a load. Gas HOG engine. I probably wouldn't keep it if the truck is just a light duty driver, your Pontiac combo would get better MPG. Likely has a 4.10-ish rear end.
Get underneath the truck and look at the cab mounts and the frame in general and as mentioned check out the sheetmetal above the windshield.
