Rick & Horst, When I got my 73GTO new it had the R89 battery in it & it had the black caps on it , the reason I remember is when I got it home, I had the car for only 3 days before I put a set of the original Headmen headers on it & at the same time I painted the outer edge of the caps red so it would look better under the hood rather then everything being just black .
