I'd be interested to see how much quicker the single plane intake runs at the track. Might not run all that much quicker, as dyno runs are only a snap-shot of the power curve. At the track the engine doesn't leave and stay in the upper rpm range where the better flowing intakes make more power. If it's only couple of tenths, I'd stick with the tri-power.
As far as headers go, we've seen 42hp difference from one brand to another on an engine making about the same power as yours. That's nearly the difference you saw in the intake manifolds. Same deal with spacers, not uncommon to see quite a bit of power lost if one isn't used with a single plane intake.....Cliff
