Batt insulation
My foam guy says the only thing Fibreglass is good for is furnace air filters as far as in a home building situation. You could lierally spray 1' of foam over the area and seal it up and although the 1" of foam might have a R-value of 5 and the batt insulation R-20 it will 5 times as warm once you stop the air infiltration.
