Humidity in garage
Humidity in a garage has little to do with how well a garage is insulated albeit aside from the inside temp affecting the dew point of the air. In simple terms the air inside the garage has a lot of moisture in it and it is condensating out. First you have to stop the air infiltration, now most people do this by insulating and placing vapour barrier on the warm side (interior)of the insulation. This traps the dew point on the outside of the vapour barrier and the outside air has no affect on the dwelling. Next you have to seal up doors and windows. Think of a bottle, if the air is dry inside the bottle and it has a cork on it then no air can enter. Once the cork is off the moist air can enter. Your garage acts in this manner. If humid air is let in through doors and windows and the temperature drops outside then the air temp inside an unheated garage will drop too. This when you get condensation and at that time it's called the dew point. The air inside the garage acts just like a nice summer day. All day it's sunny and warm, then at night the air cools off and the "Dew falls."
