It shouldn't be too hard to install----find the original seam, melt out the lead, drill out the spot welds and weld the new one in. Then bodywork the seam the modern way--Bondo, not lead.

It sounds like you got the perfect car. If the roof hadn't been bad, someone else probably would have gotten the car a long time ago. But by tackling one big fix, you finish with a nice, complete car at a fraction of the price.
