I forgot to answer one thing you asked...about whether I was going to put the top on myself or not. Don't know yet. I think I could do it but I've heard that it's really hard to get it straight with only one set of hands...So, I may farm it out. I have to do everything by myself here.
As for keeping it looking good, every vinyl top I've had in the past, I used Armour-All but I have heard some bad things about it over the years. That's a ways off for me though. Got to get her painted first!
