The Z28's for most of the 70's and 80's were neutered cars wearing a Z28 logo. Nothing at all like the original Z's.

If you go back to the original Z28 - it was a very purpose built vehicle - similar to what the new one is today.

Comparing a '78 Z with 185 HP to the 2014 500 HP version is truly an apples/oranges deal.

In 1967 - you didn't see Z28's "all over the place". In 2014 you won't either.

As to the Z28 being priced like a Porsche - well if you want to compare a 255HP Porsche Boxter to a Z - then I guess you're right. If you're talking a 400+ HP 911 - well the Porsche will be about double the price.
