I would not cut the bolt. BTDT. Not a good idea. These cars can require shim packs an inch thick. On my old '66 with different headers, I used a ball peen hammer and blacksmithed the header. A small divot was all that was required. I would much rather modify the exhaust to clear the suspension than the other way around.
