Will it hurt anything? Nah not in the short term. But it ain't right. Will you notice it?? Maybe maybe not.
I'll tell you this I had A-1 build one and they did what everybody here said and drilled the plug after the fact as they admitted they forgot to do the plug deal. This was for a 460 in my dads truck. Figuring they jacked it up at the last minute, I carried it to Bill Taylor. Bill said the balance wasn't right. And that little plug no ones worried about....
