Assuming your car is an automatic, I would go with a cam grind similar
to the specs on a ram air 3 automatic 400 engine. If you want a perfect idle, go
with the 067 cam grind. If you want a little more cam go with the 068 grind. My car
is an automatic 455 engine with the 067 grind and I love it. It idles perfect and will
burn rubber for blocks if you nail it. All the GTO's I get in my shop come in with too much
camshaft and they idle terribly and won't get out of their own way when you punch it.
Unless you are a drag racer, don't go wilder than the 068 grind on the street. I had a ram
air IV cam in my car back in the 90's and I hated it. It idled like crap and the gas mileage
was horrendous.
