Finally started working on the resto of the 66 Ventura I got
from Josh...

First car resto I've ever done so I'm taking my time and documenting
everything. I got a cheap HD camcorder and record the disassembly
narrating and mentioning anything I might need to know later..
which I then burn to DVDs and number.. so.. if I do this right I stack
a spindle of DVDs then watch them in reverse order to put the thing
back together.. great idea in theory.. we'll see if it works in practice.

Have the interior mostly out except the dash and headliner ..
have the grille, front fenders and wheel wells off.. next is the
rad support and then pulling the engine and tranny together..

This car was in an accident and had slight body damage on 3 sides..
the nose was broken, both fenders bent, the pass front door was
damaged and the pass rear 1/4 was damaged some at the back end.
I have replacement parts for all of this stuff and I have a recc for a body
guy local to cut and weld in patches since I can't weld (yet).

When its done its going to be my daily driver.. its the only way I can get
my moneys worth out of putting so much into a 4 door ... the experience
will pay off when I have to do my Bonneville convert right after this one.

the 66 YA 389 is coming out to be rebuilt and Im not sure how much
I'm going to do with it. thinking of going .30 over with a 4.25 stroke..
but the new motor build has to wait until the body is done so I have time
to ponder that more.

Heres a few pics.. the first is the day i got it home.. the second shows the
damage to the pass door and the replacement , the third shows the 1/4 damage
and the last 2 are as it sits today in my garage..
