It may be un-doable on short notice as it's a ways out for you but it is an unforgettable place. Even my wife loved it and she couldn't care less about motorcycles in general.
Maybe on Father's Day you could present a pair of tickets to the place to be redeemed at a later date.
What's cool is that they have a race track adjacent to the 5 story museum. The entire back wall of the museum is glass and you can watch the race while you browse the collection. Motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the world visit this place. It's truly an awesome collection and a gorgeous facility. The website doesn't do it justice and I guarantee you, he'll love it.
Lastly, I'll say that the fact that he has a 16 yo son that would come on here and ask a question like you have is probably present enough for him.
