I powder coated mine. Any powder coating shop will do a new tank that's never had fuel in it. I found one that did my tank even after I had used it for a couple of years after I washed it out thoroughly with dish soap and water. A shop that does fuel tanks will know not to get it so hot as to melt the solder in the filler neck, etc. Cost was $100 and it looks incredible. I had it done in a shiny silver and it looks about the same shade as a good header with ceramic coating looks. The powder coating is also thick enough to give some cushion under the straps. If you can afford it I highly recommend powder coating it.
