rexs73gto, I don't know if you can see my sig pic, but I'm already at 3 and 3 and driving just fine--slammed to the ground yes, but totally driveable. It has 3" low profiles in the front, and cut and heated coils in the back that in all honesty is more than 3" drop at this point in time. Both were put in a long time ago.

To get some ride quality back, I actually wanted to put low profile coils in the rear and new shocks all around, hence the reason why I was asking if 3" drop coils from a 61-64 Catalina would work on my 65.
