Ideal situation would have been to trim the lifter bosses before the whole assy went together. Would have to install cam bearings in the block and install the camshaft that would be used and measure the tie bar clearance at every position. Then if necessary put the .080" clearance milling in the block bosses. Not Rocket Science.
