Quite a few members here and on other sites have built body carts out of wood that had enough room under it to allow a rolling chassis to go under it.

I've used cinder blocks and 4x4s, honestly I didn't feel too safe under it for the type of work I wanted to do. I ended up putting the body back on a frame but I placed 4x4 blocks where the body mounts go. I even used threaded rod in the body mount holes to secure the body from any chance of sliding off. This will give you clearance to work on the body away from the frame and your body wont get all twisted.

Moving your convertible body around with no frame or braces could lead to problems. Are you trying to restore the chassis? Replacing floor panels? Full frame off?

A rotisserie is as important as a good compressor setup if restoring a car. You can do it without it but it will make things easier and more enjoyable.
