Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for their help.........fooled around some today, got it to look halfway decent, as least better than before.

Noiced if I compressed the spring too far, it would"t latch right.......was using the chassis manual also.....it says raise the hood 10-12 inches and let fall, I can put this hood wherever
I want, it isn't falling on its own . LOL...the other odd thing is no matter where I put the rubber stops, the hood never hits them.......I used a piece of paper under them and never felt any resistance on the paper.

Im still gonna play around with it somemore, but its seems better than it was.
