It was a good day! My old buddy Dave had my 3rd member done! So I swung by and picked her up! I had 3.0 gears and a Detroit Locker in there. I swapped to a Detroit Trutrac and 2.75 gears. I wanted a more family friendly driving experience than the good old locker would allow. The gear swap should give me a little less RPM on the interstate and not as much shifting in town driving around. The 3.0's were equal to a M21 and 3.73's. The 2.75's will act like an M21 and a 3.55 in gears 1-4, then in 5th gear drop to a 1:1 transmission ratio for a final drive 2.75 gear. The 3.55 equivilant ratio should be great for ripping and shredding, then couple it with a 28" tall 275/60/15 tire and we have 1980 rpm@ 60 MPH and 2475 rpm @ 75 MPH! Not too shabby! I got this re installed tonight, along with the axles, rear discs, and parking brake setup.
