I did not say do without an attorney. I personally would never do that, but that is up to the individual. I also did not recommend lender's title. That is REQUIRED if any bank is involved. I would never purchase that if I could avoid it. My only point is to buy owner title to protect yourself. There are plenty of cases where you do not need an Atty., but who is going to draw up the deed? Regardless of whether you get one or not, it is not always going to protect you from a defective title. Only insurance can do that. There are a lot of slack attys out there, so I would not ever rely 100% on one I did not know or even one that I did.
